Trust me . . . it’s an appropriate title for this 10 on 10. When my student teacher left for her next placement in late March, I was more than ready for it. After observing the same lesson all day and offering suggestions that were partially implemented, I needed to get my students back. Only problem? My student teacher joined me right before Lucy did . . . holy shit! I forgot how much work a puppy is when coupling that with a job. So my grading and other crap has taken a backseat on the weekends to the pup. But not last weekend. Last weekend was all about knitting, one of the things that keeps me sane. My local knit shop, Mountain Knits and Pearls (relax . . . they sell beading supplies, too; the owner is a retired English teacher – she chose the correct “pearl/purl” for this context), had an excellent teacher in for a full weekend of classes. Take the class; make a small Norwegian fana cardigan. Fun, right? So while I was knitting, I stopped occasionally to take a photo to use for the 10 on 10. We had a small lunch break and headed to Rudy’s for a super (it’s a hot dog that has a slice of cheese in the middle and is wrapped in bacon and then grilled. Trust me, it’s super) and some lagers, and then it was back to the knit shop for more knitting. Olive was extremely grateful for the sun and that Lucy can’t reach her on the dining room table. Dave and I ended the evening with some sushi and some really bad fortunes. Head on over to Laura and see how she spent her day. I’m pretty sure it was spectacular.
I’m digging that color combo! Beer, sushi, and knitting…oh. yes!
wish I could knit…
this day looks quite awesome!! sushi & knitting, perfect combo!
