July was a rough, rough month. I didn’t feel like myself for the vast majority of it, and for that, I blame the prednisone and medication that I was on. My mind felt like it was swimming at times, kind of like being a little bit drunk but all the damn time. Sounds like fun, right? And the best part . . . even after I stopped taking the steroids, I still had that feeling rattling around in my brain. And why say all this? Because I put off my 10 on 10 day until July 31. Do or die time basically. Like it or leave it. Basically, my last stand for the month. Here’s my day from 7 AM until 7 PM.

7 PM – Ending the Day at Sit ‘n Knit
For me, this was a pretty typical day. I’ve been cooking a lot, trying new recipes, and making delicious food to eat. The Happy Crackers were a huge, huge hit. Dave liked them, which is nice, and I think I’ll up the seasoning next time since they were a tad on the bland side. I’m happy that I went with the sparkly teal for my tootsies since in a few, short weeks, I’ll need to go with the conservative colors once again when the doors to school open wide.
And now that you’ve seen how I spent my day, go see how Laura spent hers. I’m pretty sure that it will be spectacular!
Yuck, my Aunt is on prednisone and it’s a total body/mind attack. I feel for you. Just talking 10 on 10: I really like this one, the every day-ness of it reminds me Fall is coming. And your dear old dog is always a fan favorite. 😉
I’m just happy to be off the prednisone/deximethisone. Made me feel like shit but it cured the icky rash! Livvie is adorable, but she’s so very, very old.
I love the mood of all of these together.
Feeling drunk is only good when you set out to feel that way. Sorry for your medicine-head month.
I’m going to try those crackers. Nah, who am I kidding. I won’t. I don’t cook.
Oh, and giggling about your comment on the toenail polish. You have a TAT on your ankle, right? 😉
Make the crackers. Seriously. I didn’t cook until about three weeks ago (ask Erika), and the crackers were an attempt to get my husband to realize that healthy foods can be good (he LOVED them, btw). It’s a ball of yarn on my ankle; the rest of them are on my left arm, sternum, and back . . . can’t wait to get the next one!
my cousin hosts a bitch and stitch… I think if she might have called it a sit and knit I might have joined! hope your august is a bit less intoxicating! 🙂
I’ll take the intoxication if it comes in the form of something liquid, but that medicine shit is for the birds. Technically, it’s a sit ‘n knit that I go to, but we do enough bitching to qualify for that. It ranges in ages from 68 to about 11 (occasionally), and you learn so much at them – plus, they keep me sane, which is pretty f-ing awesome!
It seems like a lovely day. I love the name of the crackers : )
It was a really good day. And make the crackers! They are insanely good, and the name is so appropriate.
I’m sorry to hear your month wasnt great! Hope your August is brilliant! & what is your tattoo of?
It was a bad month, but a lot of things really clicked for me, so I’m calling it the best month. I have a ball of yarn tattooed on my ankle because I knit, and it grounds me. The artist who does most of mine did such a good job . . . every strand of yarn attaches to the correct one, but, man, did it hurt.
Hope your feeling better each day-I disagree about the polish- I say if you like it why change for school- the kids will love to see funky colors on you
I’ll still bring out the wild colors, but I think for the first few weeks, no sense in scaring them. They get enough of an eyeful with the tattoos and the nose ring 🙂
Oh my that last image!! I love the color of the yarn. And I didn’t do mine until the 6th ;0
Awesome pictures.
Thanks! It’s my Olympic knit and is supposed to be finished on Sunday evening when the closing ceremony ends. Here’s hoping I get it done!
I’ve been seeing your food pins pop up on Pinterest. Love that you’re spending more time in kitchen making healthy shit. That, plus the hooping, plus the walking/running and you’re going to look like a million bucks the next time I see you! xo
God, I hope so. Hell, I’ll settle for being less out of breath, but the cooking thing? Who would have thought this would ever be me?! But notice that I’m still pinning cupcakes 🙂
I love your sparkly polish!! And your selfie!! And Olive is just a hoot, no? She’s like F&*$#ck this!
Normally, Olive is so happy, but she was in a pissy mood on the 31st. The nail polish is Bluey by Butter London . . . lurve it so much! And thanks for the selfie love . . . I was playing around with some crap that day.
love your cats expression…. and your old dog in the sun. Those photos look so peaceful and quiet… something severely lacking in my life. haha! 🙂
Considering the dog is almost 13, I think she’s soaking up every last bit of sun she can find. And the cats? They are hilarious. If they aren’t fighting, they’re trying to share the same cushion. Peaceful comes about when your kids are at college.
i’m not a cat person. at all. but, olive is so pretty i kind of want to borrow her (she looks full of attitude – i like that). this post makes me want to bake crackers and pick up knitting again. it’s been so long . . . but, the crackers have a better chance of happening right now.
Oh, my god . . . make the crackers! They are so easy and tasty. Who knows – maybe I’ll plan ahead and surprise y’all with some. And Olive really doesn’t have an attitude. She’s quite loving (for a cat); it’s the other one – Gilly – who cops an attitude ever day.
I love your animals. And your green eyes! And your toe nail polish. By mid October you’ll be able to hit them with something truely spectacular. I’m thinking zebra stripes, here!
No zebra stripes for me! And by October, I’ll be back in regular shoes without pedicures 😦 Animals are the subject du jour around my house because my daughters are 21 and at school. Eventually, I’ll do a 10 on 10 when they are around.
Oh, because you live someplace where it gets cold, and maybe even snows? LOL. And yes, you deffinitly need to do a 10 on 10 with your girls!
It usually snows, but last year, we only got it in October, which is why I was out of school by June 5 for a change. Woo!
Why are cats so bitchy? I need a cat.
Do. NOT. Get. A. Cat. Now that Olive is ours, it’s another ten years, at least. And she’s the least bitchy cat I know. Seriously, this one thinks she’s a dog.
I really love the fact that you insert the time with your photos… we can really live your day with you!
I’m 99% sure that the times are approximate, but they are fairly accurate . . . it was a long day but incredibly productive.
