I’m a child of the ’80s, no questions about it. Dave and I will frequently stop on the ’80s channel and try and identify the song playing in the least amount of time. Think “I Can Name That Tune” only with two hyper competitive people who don’t follow the rules. So, that being said, yesterday we spent the day in Berlin (ahhhh … big fan of the song).
We took the train from Hamburg Hbf to Berlin Hbf kinda on a wing and a prayer. Dave and I have been doing this long enough that we figure it out as we go. Tear out a chunk of the guide book. Make a few notes on my cellphone. Just go.
In Berlin, we decided to do a guided walk to see the main sights. I thought it was two hours … but I was wrong. Four hours. Which normally would be fine, but it was 80 some degrees and sunny. If you know me, you know I avoid the sun. But in Berlin, that wasn’t an option. I never thought I would get sunburned in Berlin, but then again, I never thought my kids would be in college.
Anyway, Berlin was a nice trip full of interesting sights and bits of info. But also full of really sweet people who were willing to help confused tourists out along the way.
